Columbia Islamic School is, in fact the only Islamic school in South Carolina with a green initiative. The Green Initiative curriculum is designed to encourage students to understand how the various systems we use sustain us, and to discover ways to make these systems more self-sustainable. It also inspires students to find creative and simple ways to integrate school and community through local ecology and overall sustainability.
