Little School With A BIG Impact
Columbia Islamic School is a full time Islamic School with a green initiative. Our purpose is to provide a well-rounded quality education with a strong Islamic foundation at affordable prices. Our goals include personal development, social competence, and perpetual learning. CIS offers a dynamic curriculum that includes competitive academic and Islamic studies with an environmental green initiative as a thematic element.
CurriculumOur curriculum implements picture study and other classical techniques to develop the child's language study. Reading, writing, spelling, storytelling, and comprehension skills are taught through simple oral and written projects. The students will learn their math facts, rules, and formulas, and will be able to use this knowledge in real life applications. The study of math is much more than committing a list of facts to memory. It includes memorization, but it also encompasses learning the concepts that are critical to problem solving. The science program is taken from Harcourt Science which provides students with integrated learning opportunities. This program is developed to provide science concepts in an easy to understand and comprehend, along with making the learning fun. CIS implements the highest quality curriculum for the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies program.

SEEDs Of Our FutureThe theme that will carry our curriculum is the green initiative. The green initiative is a program that works to create a culture of environmental responsibility on school campuses throughout the United States. Our students will learn to be the ambassadors of the earth, interacting with the environment in harmony, Inshallah. They will reduce, reuse, and recycle the elements of the earth. CIS is a SEED (School of Environmental Education and Development). So far we have established a school garden that has harvested organic vegetables and a recycling program that includes the Masjid Community. We assure that our students will be nurtured and educated in a manner pleasing to Allah and their parents.
